Admissions

  • Any child applying for admission to the first grade should be at least six years of age by August 15. We highly recommend that your child be seven before enter school. There are reasons for this based on mental and physical development. Kindergarteners should be five by August 15. We admit and comply in accordance with South Carolina compulsory attendance laws.
  • Physical exam reports from a physician must be submitted by all new students. A student coming from another Seventh-day Adventist school may submit a previous physical report.
  • All students transferring from another school will be required to present a transcript from the school previously attended.
  • Parents seeking admission for their children thereby place themselves on record as being in harmony with the principles of the school.
  • Poplar Springs Seventh-day Adventist School admits students to all the rights and privileges in administration of education, application for admission or extracurricular programs accorded or made available to students. No discrimination will be made based on race, color, ethnic background or country of origin. We welcome all male and female students based on their sex at birth.
  • If your family has ANY court or legal documents that will affect PSS in ANYWAY we need a copy of the paperwork concerning the child, on file in the office.  This incudes, but isn’t limited to family court paperwork, custody paper foster care, kinship, pre-adoptive contracts, etc.
  • Accident insurance is provided for each child while attending school and school functions and is part of the Registration Fee.
